Welcome to KIDO Ecological Research
Station (KERS) and the YWF-KIDO
Foundation, a non-profit, non governmental organization. Our
primary mission: To preserve the natural ecosystems, arts,
heritage, and encourage sustainable development of the Southern Grenadines
through environmental education, social development, scientific
research and eco tourism.
KERS is located at approximately 12N Latitude
and 61.5°W Longitude on the northwest side of Carriacou
Island, part of the tri-island nation of Grenada, West
Indies. The area is considered to be one of the most bio diverse
in the Caribbean. Its proximity to unexplored islets and cays
make it an ideal base for researchers, students, and eco tourists
alike. Historically located below the "hurricane belt,"
Carriacou is an ideal place to visit any time of the year.
We have accommodations
capable of serving groups for extended periods of time,
and families/holiday guests looking for a unique weekend getaway literally off the beaten track. Come to
KIDO and experience the natural beauty of the Caribbean.
